Learn to ski at Jura sur Léman: the perfect place to build confidence
Whether it’s your first time on skis, you’re getting back on the slopes after several years, or you want to introduce your children to skiing, Jura sur Léman is a human-scale ski area where you can learn at your own pace.
With 11 green runs, representing almost a quarter of the ski area, you’ll find several areas where you can make your first turns, get used to the ski lifts and gradually build your confidence.
Beginner areas
For your first runs, head to the areas equipped with magic carpets, rope tows or easy drag lifts, with green runs designed for learning.
Find all the beginner areas and lifts, as well as the green runs, on the piste map.
Beginner Pass
The Beginner Pass gives you access to all areas served by lifts identified as “beginner” on the piste map.
My first day skiing
Not sure where to start? Here are the steps to help you make the most of your first day on the slopes.
1. Choose your equipment
You don’t need to buy your own equipment to get started. Skis, boots and a helmet can be hired from the rental providers in the ski area.
2. Head to a suitable area
For your first runs, choose areas equipped with a magic carpet, rope tow or easy drag lift.
This will help you get used to your skis and learn the basics in an environment suited to beginners.
3. Learn the basics
Braking, turning, stopping, using a drag lift… These first steps are essential to feeling comfortable on skis.
Need some guidance? Ski schools offer lessons for both children and adults, whatever your level.
4. Build your confidence
Once you’ve mastered the basics, you can gradually move on to the green runs, and then try the blue runs when you feel ready.
There’s no need to do everything in one day: the main goal is to have fun!
