During the winter season (November 1 through March 31), it is mandatory to have the proper tires or chains on your vehicle to drive in the Haut-Jura. You must either equip your car with snow tires or carry a ready-to-use set of snow chains (or snow socks) in your trunk.

Here are a few tips for assembling your snow chains !
– Before taking the road in the direction of your mountain holidays, practice beforehand to make sure you know how to put on the snow chains when the time comes.
– Always put your chains on in the dedicated chain change bays so as not to block traffic.
– The chains must be tight, otherwise there is a risk of them coming loose while driving and damaging the car. So drive a few metres after fixing your chains so that you can tighten them !
